Exodus and 1Channel Failed to Install a Dependency on Firestick

Users who have recently installed or updated to Kodi 17 Krypton are having issues with add-ons not installing and receiving error messages such as “Failed to Install a Dependency”. This issue with add-ons not installing, due to dependencies, is extremely common on fire tv’s and firesticks. This issue is largely due to a cache problem in Kodi that we will have to eliminate before we can begin installing add-ons again. If this doesn’t fix the problem, also consider signing up for a VPN. IPVanish is a must have for Kodi users who are tired of having errors connecting to servers and buffering issues.

Here’s how to fix the dependency issue:

Step 1: Navigate to Systems>File Manager

Step 2: Double click on “Profile Directory” on the left hand side of the screen

Step 3: Double click on “Database”. Inside “Database” you will see files named similar to this example “Addons16.db”.

Step 4: There can be multiple files with “Addons##.db” where the number is variable. Right-click and delete all files that are “Addons##.db”

Step 5: Restart your Kodi and resume installing 1Channel and Exodus with out any issues.

To fix the dependency issue on Windows, navigate to:
C:/User/Your-user-name/AppData/Roaming/KODI/userdata/Database/Addonsx.db

For other Android devices:
sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/userdata/

Delete the Addons##.db file from within those folders.

Restart Kodi.
